A love letter to my first business.

This was an exercise in freedom, love, acceptance and moving on.

Dear Cleveland Flea,

When you first whispered into my ear that you picked ME to collaborate with in earthly form, I was a bit terrified, to be honest. You were such a powerful essence, how could I match that?

But I would never question The Universe. So there we were. Me fresh out of a messy divorce and even messier and more toxic relationship. I was living in a hostel. Honestly my life was similar to now, in some funny ways. You offered me so much trust, and brought healing and loving and wildly creative energy into my life.

From the very beginning, I knew you were always more than just a market. And what we created together continues to live on through so many, many humans showing up for a similar purpose.

You were such a healing and invigorating presence in so many lives, a true titan in the space of inviting humans to their own creative destinies. Together, we made it possible for so many to believe it could happen for them. You shone a bright light on their heart’s desires. It’s remarkable and spiritual.

For years, you and I worked side by side, heart to heart, in magical ways that many found triggering. Good. It was us that showed people their truths, and that is such a blessing for any of us.

I never doubted your power, but it was so much more than I could have dreamed. The millions of smiles you engineered. The millions of hearts you lifted. As much as humans like to define business success in terms of money only (which you and I delivered heartily), it is the intangible spiritual success that was most truly powerful.

Our collaboration lead me to uncover something that was always meant for me– that business is only a conduit for our continued personal evolution. That business can be a force for such internal good, if only we see it as a calling and a partner and not as a thing to control and inflict.

You came to me in a moment of intense personal distress. I am so grateful to you. I’m glad that even amid that distress, I was willing to say YES.

I think that is why we made magic together so well.

Your gifts to me were so much more than money and notoriety. You saved me. You taught me how to say YES even when everything was so uncertain. You taught me that spirit is always around, looking for a partner. You brought so much joy and love and energy to a world that so desperately needs it.

You defied definition and boxes and you did not want to be caged. We are so similar in that way. I thank you for being my teacher and loving partner for so many years.

Day by day you showed us all the grandest of lessons– how very powerful our hearts are, when activated by love, belonging, faith and joy.

Thank you for choosing me, my love.
